Question: "How can a church achieve a true, biblical unity?" Answer: The Bible underscores the importance of “unity” and “oneness.” Unity with others is “good” and “pleasant” (Psalm ).

Unity is absolutely essential because the church is the “body of Christ” (1 Corinthians ), and a body cannot be in disunity or disharmony with itself. The unity of the church is one of the most important subjects in the New Testament, but it’s also one of the most difficult to apply in a biblically faithful manner.

It is frequently misapplied when people say, “They will know that we are Christians by our love, not by our doctrinal agreement.
